How long will the labels last in my garden?
...Years! Garden Fonts labels really do stand up to the elements.
We've tested them for more than nine years with great
success here in our northern New England gardens.
They've come through rain, sun, freeze and thaw, temperatures
from 29 below to the 90s... and they still look great.
One of our customers writes:
"The labels you ... supplied ... were excellent markers
in the garden this summer. Those that are now two years old
are still in perfect condition and show no effect from
the weather of two hot summers." (L. White, Decatur, Georgia)

How soon will my order arrive?
We ship by Priority Mail, which is delivered within 3-5 days from the date of shipment.

Blank metal markers ship within 1-3 days of our receiving your order.
For custom printed items (peel & stick labels and Markers to Go!), we'll
ship your labels within two to three weeks of the day you order.
Setting up and printing custom labels is a labor intensive operation;
if your order is a large one, and/or you catch us at a busy time, there may be
a delay. We always try to get your order out within our normal two to three week
time frame. If it looks like your order will be more than four weeks
in processing, we will email you to let you know.
The moral is... please try to get us your plant list significantly in advance
of your garden tour or opening day, to be sure of your labels arriving on time!

How do I attach the labels to metal garden markers?
The labels are very easy to attach... just peel and stick!
(for detailed instructions, with photos, see "How to attach labels".
The acrylic adhesive is permanent, and is unaffected by moisture
or temperature extremes.

Do I have to buy new markers to use Garden Fonts labels?
Not at all! The labels will work with new or old markers.
(Used markers should be clean and dry before applying
the labels).

Are any discounts available?
We offer a 10 percent discount on orders of 100 or more labels
or "Markers to Go!".

Old customers will notice that we have discontinued our 5 cent
per label rebate for lists sent on disk, by email, or in scannable form.
We have lowered our prices so that this discount is now automatic.
Instead, we now charge a 10 cent per label premium (surcharge)
for lists that require re-typing (this includes handwritten, typed, and faxed plant lists).

All plant lists sent by email, on floppy disk, or through our website get the new, lower price.

What's the difference between the "sans-serif"
and "serif" typeface options?
Serif typefaces, like Times Roman, feature little "feet" or short cross-strokes
at the tops and bottoms of individual letters. Sans-serif typefaces,
like Arial or Helvetica, use none of these decorative elements.
Your choice is a largely matter of taste. Sans-serif faces tend to be
clearer and easier to read, while serif typefaces lend a more traditional note,
but may sacrifice a bit in readability. Click for typeface samples

Is it better to have my labels done in capital letters (ALL CAPS), or
in initial caps (Initial Caps... just the first letter of plant name capitalized)?
It's your choice. We'll print your labels exactly as we receive them.
You should note, however, that using all capital letters often requires
the use of smaller type than is needed if labels are printed with only
the first letter capitalized.

Do you make labels for markers other than Paw Paw, EON, or SW?
Certainly... just send the nameplate dimensions for your marker.
We'll make a prototype and send it to you (to be sure it fits your
marker), along with a price estimate.
We also can make labels premounted on thin aluminum plates for
specialty use (such as specimen tree labeling for botanical gardens)...
email us for a price quote.

Can I get other typefaces (fonts) for my labels?
We can accommodate most requests for custom typefaces.
If we don't have your font (by name), we probably
have a similar one. Send us a sample as a file attachment
to your email, or by regular mail; we'll do our best to match it.

Can I use italics in my plant list?
Definitely yes. Though our email will not support italics as such,
just use brackets [ and ] around any words you want italicized.

You can also send us your list as a Microsoft Word file attachment to your email; this should keep your formatting intact.
